Our Story
Band was started in 1977 by Rick Sullivan Rex Corson Mike Greer. Mike left shortly after the band was put together. Then came Jim Lynch. Rick Rex and Jim enjoyed many years of popularity and giging doing an average 48 weeks a year of 2 nighters for years. With the passing of Rick and Jim that puts us where we are now. Rex, Derek Price and Ken Kent. Very talented musicians with over 80yrs experience are carrying on the "FREE TIME" name and spirit. It was once heard "You young men from the cornfields of Northern Illinois go forth into the world and play Rock n Roll and from this day forward thow shall be known as "FREE TIME" and these three musicians being the next metimorphisis are carrying on the FREE TIME spirit in the music and their Original tunes. What Inspires Us
What inspires us is the love of music and how it cures the soul and the happiness it brings. With a wide range in ages, Derek 36, Ken 54, and Rex 63 the co-founder of the band, the commariderie is great and brings with it a wide range in tastes of music which works well, and Darren Corson doing sound engineering and having 20+ yrs exp. Sure helps.
Our Influences
Our influences range from 50s all the way to current music from Old Rock n Roll, Classic Rock, Metal, Pop, Blues , and New Wave/Punk. Our personal sound and creativity that we add to all our music helps to set us apart. With the additions of our Originals, which are very popular, makes us a band with there own sound our own style and our own spirit to the music. First and Formost WE PLAY FOR YOU.
